Matt Baughman

My name is Matt and I am the founder and CEO of YUAR. I was born and raised in Wisconsin and am now exploring and learning around the world. I have experience in a broad variety of environments and have worked in companies ranging from a rapidly growing advertising startup to giants like Google. I have always known that gaining as much experience as possible would be crucial to my success by providing me with the tools and skills I would need to handle any problem. I have shown myself to be an innovator and problem-solver in every instant.

Currently, I am part of the Minerva Schools at KGI, a technology-powered startup university based in San Francisco. Minerva is a unique and incredible experience as it allows students to live and work in seven major cities around the world. I am studying data and decision science in conjunction with philosophy and law, focusing on how these fields relate to development around the globe.

On a personal level, my passions include aviation and data-driven finance. I like puzzles and so that is how I approach obstacles. Being able to disentangle facts and contexts to break down the core issue is a vital part of solving any problem and is, in part, why I decided to develop YUAR. I knew that it would be tough to create a  new meal replacement in a seemingly saturated market, but I also recognized that nobody had yet brought to market a sustainable, accessible, and balanced meal replacement option. Nevertheless, I did not want to create a one-off solution. Because of this, I developed YUAR using software that can be used to create a perfect meal solution under constraints. In this way, we can create a naturally calcium-fortified YUAR or a low-fat YUAR. I did this because I think this is what is necessary to solve systemic issues in the meal replacement option and to solve the problem of alternative nutrition that is available to anyone.
